Mad City Aqua Stars aspires to be an outstanding athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience to every athlete. A high-quality experience is one in which every athlete:
- Is coached using the principles of Positive Coaching
- Has fun at practices, showcases and competitions
- Feels like an important part of the team regardless of performance
- Learns “life lessons” that have value beyond the swimming pool
We emphasize the development of technical, physical and mental abilities, creative movement and being a cooperative team member. We are committed to creating a positive culture, in which coaches, parents, fans, officials and athletes work together to achieve our mission. We are a no cut team and offer opportunities to all!
We are always seeking new athletes to join our team. The only requirements are to be at least 7 years old, to have passed level 3 in Red Cross swimming, be comfortable in deep water, and to have a desire to learn and have fun! We are a no-cut, inclusive team — if you want to participate, there is a place for you!
Practices are held at the Middleton Cross Plains Area Indoor Pool, which is adjacent to Middleton High School. Practice begins in September, and our athletes practice once, twice or three times per week, depending on their level. Our recreational team practices once per week, and performs at our showcase in May. Our competitive team begins competing on the state level in November with figure and skills meets once a month. In January, routine meets begin and also occur once a month. Most of our competitive athletes end our season with regional competition in May. Our senior athletes have also qualified for Junior Olympics in recent years, which is held in July.
